Speaker

François Rincon (SETE, CNRS)

Description

In this presentation, I will first present the research possibilities offered by the experimental ecology facilities of the Theoretical and Experimental Ecology Station of (SETE) Moulis, from the terrestrial and aquatic metatrons part of ANAEE France to microcosms, greenhouse, animal facilities, molecular and microbial labs supporting the scientific project conducted on the metatrons. I will then showcase some of the main results obtained over the last few years, outlining their unique potential for scientific discovery on the effects of climate change and fragmentation on ecosystems, biodiversity and ecosystem services, merging evolutionary and ecological perspectives and linking experiments with theory. Finally, as future head of the station, I will describe some ongoing or planned technical and organizational evolutions for the years to come to encourage the submission, and hosting of new ambitious French and European projects at SETE.
